Zilpah

Leah found personal victory through the fruitfulness of another (Zilpah).   If your life is defined only through the building of your own ministry you will come to the limitations of your own fruitfulness.  But if you build up and sow into others and other ministries you will engage in a whole other realm of fruition.  Don’t just sow into ministries from which you can receive personal benefit from.  That is not true cross pollenization.  But try once to sow into something that will have no personal advantage on your life or ministry.  The advantage is purely for the kingdom of God.  Cross denominational lines.  Look at the breeds of horses, or dogs, or beautiful flowers that would not exist if no one crossed pollinated.  Learn to sow into what does not personally effect you.  My wife and I are missionaries with no denominational affiliation.  We made a decision sometime ago to support other missionaries in the very same field regardless of denominational affiliation.  These are not missionaries that are under us in any way, for that is like a father paying his tithes back into his own family.  Immediately after we committed to this we experienced financial break through.  Stop sowing into yourselves and learn to sow into others.  If you want others to help build up your ministry then try helping someone else build up theirs.  Pastors, don’t just sow back into your congregation.  Reach outside your own church walls.  Sow into another church, another pastor.  As pastors may you always be blessed (or cursed) to be surrounded by the type of sheep you yourselves have been.  If you are self serving and self supporting may you be surrounded by sheep who are self serving and self supporting.  But as you learn to sow outwardly, may the Lord bring it back to you. (Pro.11:1)  “Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give unto your bosom.  For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” (6:38 KJV).  The same measure you “dish it out” may it be measured to you again.  If you sow sparingly, you will reap sparingly.  If you sow liberally you will reap liberally.
